3rd District School Board candidate Ta’Quan Grant drops out, endorses Kevin Starlings

“Thank you to all who supported me in this endeavor. With prayer and consideration I withdraw my candidacy for School Board. I solicit your prayers and love as I continue to focus on my faith and perfecting my walk with Christ, my family, and ministry.

The best is yet to come! I will always be a advocate for my city and community and most of all the future "our youth!"

I stand to fully endorse my friend, Kevin Starlings who's commitment to our young people speaks volumes. As chair of the SHAB He brings people together to fight for the wellness of our students in RPS.

Garrett Sawyer runs for Richmond's 4th District School Board seat

BREAKING NEWS/EXCLUSIVE Garre tt Sawyer has announced tha t he will be seeking to fill the 4th District School Board seat vacated by Jonathan Young's resignation. It's not libel if it's true: remarks to the RPS School Board

Last night the RPS School Board voted to terminate the employment of REA President Neri Suarez. Disappointingly, only two School Board members voted to oppose or pause this termination. Third District School Board rep and City Council candidate Kenya Gibson voted "no;" Shonda Harris-Muhammed (6th District) abstained. Obviously education workers will be making all of this an election issue. In advance of the termination vote, I sent the following written comment to some members of the School Board. Since emailing these remarks, I have added to them and extended them. *** RPS has put the President of the REA up for termination. In response, the REA Board launched a petition asking that the School Board rescind this termination.
